'The Lighting Of Avalon' Celebration Begins Sunday

In lieu of the annual one-day extravaganza, this year's The Lighting of Avalon has been updated to a 12-day event to allow smaller crowds.

ALPHARETTA, GA — It’s looking merry and bright along the Boulevard as Avalon gears up for one of North Fulton’s favorite tree lighting traditions. In lieu of the annual one-day extravaganza, this year's event has been transformed into a 12-day celebration featuring a variety of festive, open-air activations for the community, including Avalon on Ice performances, rooftop cocktail hours, pop-up concerts and more. The festivities kick off Sunday and continue through Dec. 3.

The first day of celebrations begins at noon with the opening of Avalon’s inaugural Holiday Market. Guests are invited to shop the market before the Avalon on Ice skating performances kick off at 1 p.m., marking the opening of the Rockefeller-inspired ice rink to the public. From 5 to 7 p.m., skaters can get their groove on while gliding around the rink to live music by Atlanta-favorite Bogey and the Viceroy. At 7 p.m., guests around property will be surprised and delighted by a dazzling light and fireworks show.

To offer the community more merry moments with less crowds, the light and fireworks spectacular will take place each night at 7 p.m. throughout the 12-day celebration. More information on the 12-day lineup of holiday happenings can be found here.
