Lighting Of Avalon Features Ice Skating, Santa Claus

ALPHARETTA, GA -- Get in the holiday spirit with festive music and activities for the whole family during Avalon’s annual Lighting of Avalon.

This year's event will be held Sunday, Nov. 20. From the opening of Avalon on Ice to the magnificent tree lighting, this is a celebration of the season you won’t want to miss. Additionally, activities such as face painting, balloon art and caricatures will be available.

These activities and glowing bracelets that sync with music will be available for a $3 donation and all proceeds will benefit The Drake House, a local organization that provides assistance to North Fulton families in need.

A schedule of events throughout the day is as follows:

1 to 9 p.m. – Avalon on Ice, Avalon’s very own ice skating rink inspired by The Rink at Rockefeller Center, opens in The Plaza for the holiday season.

• 1 p.m. – Dazzling figure skating performance.
• 2 to 9 p.m. – The rink will be open for all guests to enjoy.
• $18 per person, price includes skate rental.

1 to 5 p.m. – Enjoy activities, crafts, and fun for the entire family at the Activity Row.

• 1 to 5 p.m. – Holiday performances will take place on the main stage throughout the day from community groups and local artists.
• 4 to 7 p.m. – Street performers will entertain along Avalon Boulevard including holiday stilt walkers, Christmas carolers, and more.
• 5 to 6 p.m. – Bogey and the Viceroys will take the stage to headline the night as they play holiday tunes that will have everyone on their feet.
• 6 to 6:55 p.m. – Enjoy a Holiday Spectacular Variety Show as you await Santa's arrival! Special celebrities and guests will wow the crowd to put everyone in the Holiday Spirit.

6:55 p.m. – Don't miss Santa Claus as he arrives to Avalon for the season.

• 7 p.m. – Join Santa as he lights the tree and celebrate the official start to The Perfect Holliday Season at Avalon!
• Continue the holiday merriment with Bogey and the Viceroys as they perform crowd favorites that will have you dancing the night away.
