Milton Citizens Government Academy Seeking Participants
The Milton Citizens Government Academy is a way for citizens to connect with and learn more about Milton's government.

MILTON, GA — Do you want to know what – and who – makes the City of Milton’s government tick?
If so, you have a chance soon to explore all aspects of the City’s operations, engage directly with those involved in running it, and learn how to make even more of a difference in the Milton community.
The next iteration of the Milton Citizens Government Academy kicks off on Jan. 25, then runs for an additional seven weeks (through March 21) at various City-owned facilities. Academy participants will hear from representatives of all City departments, take part in hands-on activities, better understand Milton’s values and priorities, and grasp how the City has evolved and where it might go next.

The first CGA, as the program is known, was launched in the late 2010s as a way for citizens to connect with and learn more about Milton’s government. Its last session began weeks before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, after which the Academy was put on a temporary hiatus.
Among other topics, Academy students will dive into the ins and outs of emergency services, law enforcement, planning and zoning matters, transportation, parks and recreation and much more.
