Milton To Consider Rezoning Moratorium in Highway 9 Vision Area

The 180-day moratorium would include parcels along S.R. 9 between Bethany Bend to the Forsyth County line.

Milton leaders on Wednesday will consider imposing a moratorium on accepting rezoning applications on parcels located in its 2014 Highway 9 Vision Area.

The City Council will consider the 180-day moratorium at its Jan. 21 meeting, which was rescheduled due to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The property covered under the moratorium includes S.R. 9 from Bethany Bend to the Forsyth County line.

Council members will also consider a slew of Parks and Recreation agreements with outside companies to provide various services and consider setting qualifying fees for the 2015 municipal election.

Council seats from District 1/Post 2, District 2/Post 2 and District 3/Post 2 in 2015 are up for re-election and if approved by the council, the qualifying fee would be set at $390 for the Nov. 3 general election.

The full agenda can be viewed online. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. and will take place at in the Council Chambers at Milton City Hall, which is at 13000 Deerfield Parkway Suite 107E.
