Milton Crews Battle Fire at Chadwick Road Landfill

Due to its size and depth, the fire could take hours to extinguish, and residents with sensitive respiratory systems should remain indoors.

Crews with the Milton Fire-Rescue Department spent Sunday morning putting out a large rubbish fire at Chadwick Road Landfill in the western part of the city.

Over an acre in size, the fire produced large amounts of smoke, the city said Sunday morning.

The address of the fire is 13700 Chadwick Farms Boulevard, which sits near Milton’s border with Cherokee County.

Due to the size and depth, the fire took hours to extinguish, Milton said. Residents with respiratory issues were encouraged to remain indoors or avoid the area.
