Milton Firm's Big Check Sent to Employee Stolen, Cashed
The following information was supplied by the Milton police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A $14,600 check sent out by a Milton business never reached the employee who was being paid, but was cashed by someone else.
The business owner said she mailed the check to an address in Canada, but it was intercepted in the mail. The name and address on the check were changed by the person who cashed it.
Regions Bank asked the business to file a police report, which was done on July 25.

A Milton woman woke up to see a man standing above her next to her bed early in the morning on July 24.
Once she saw the man, she screamed. The suspect said, "Sorry for this, ma'am," according to a police report on the incident.
Nothing seemed to be taken by the attempted robbery suspect.
Quick Stop to Pick Son Up From Camp Ends in Quicker Theft
A Milton woman who stopped by Hopewell Middle School on July 27 to pick up her son from camp had her purse stolen from her SUV.
The woman told Milton police that after she entered the school to get her son, she heard someone had just broken into her vehicle. The thief took her purse, which contained her passport, her two nephews' passports, her checkbook, three debit cards, two U.S. credit cards, two Venuzuelan credit cards, her driver's license and her birth certificate.
A witness reported seeing a man punching in the window with his fist, and taking the woman's purse out of the SUV. He got into a silver SU and drove away.
