Milton To Hold Public Hearings On Proposed Millage Rate

Staff will present millage rate options to the City Council for consideration, including a return to the capped millage rate of 4.731 mills.

MILTON, GA — The City of Milton has set the public hearings schedule to discuss the proposed 2019 millage rate.

As part of those public hearings, staff will present multiple millage rate options to the City Council for consideration including a return to the capped millage rate of 4.731 mills. This is the same millage rate that was used to calculate Milton property tax bills from 2006 until 2017 and excludes the separately calculated greenspace bond millage rate.

"Advertising at the capped millage rate provides full transparency to the public regarding the maximum potential tax increase, while preserving the opportunity for more detailed Council discussions on millage rate options and service levels," said Finance Director Bernadette Harvill.
