Milton Introduces New Spring Music Festival
This new, family-friendly music festival combines the volunteer spirit of Milton with its love for animals by benefitting animal charities.

From The City of Milton: Live music, furry friends, and Broadwell Road are going to make for an awesome spring street party! The City of Milton recently kicked off its new community partnership with the Vox Artium Foundation to bring Rock for Rescues, a one-day music festival benefitting local animal nonprofits, to Milton on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
City leaders and the Crabapple Community Association along with participating bands and representatives from the benefitting nonprofits gathered at the Olde Blind Dog late last month to officially launch Milton's newest special event Rock for Rescues.
"This event will replace our annual Milton Jubilee," said Community Outreach and Engagement Manager Courtney Spriggs. "Just as the city was exploring possible ways to re-energize this event, Vox approached us with this amazing idea."

According to Spriggs, the partnership with the Vox Artium Foundation was the "perfect opportunity" for a fresh approach to Milton's signature spring event. "We had such positive feedback from last summer's outdoor concert at Bell Memorial that we knew Rock for Rescues was an opportunity we couldn't pass up."
The city of Milton is known for its tremendous community support and the volunteer spirit of its residents. This new, family-friendly music festival combines the volunteer spirit of Milton with its love for animals by benefitting five designated animal charities: Special Equestrians of Georgia, a Milton nonprofit; Pilots 'N Paws; Pets for Vets; Canine Cellmates; and Furkids.

While the April 28 event will be free to attend, the city and its partners will be providing opportunities over the next six months for residents to show their support for these area nonprofits as well as ways to support these charities on the day of the festival.
"We're partnering with some incredible musicians, sponsors and nonprofits," said Ray Baker, Founder of Vox Artium. "Each nonprofit addresses a unique audience so we feel there is something for everyone to feel a connection to. We'll be working closely with all our partners to share festival updates as well as stories of the amazing work being done by these organizations."
Families coming out to the festival on April 28 will enjoy music from A Slow Boat to China; Pony League; the Chip McGuire Band; and Linnie & Amy Joy. Festival goers can dine on a number of food truck options and enjoy beverages from the Alcohol Heroes cocktail truck. Additional event details will be announced as the festival date approaches. The festival will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
"Everyone is invited to stick around after the festival and enjoy dinner at one of our Crabapple restaurants," said Jennifer Newton president of the Crabapple Community Association.
