"As a founding member of the Milton Mayor's Run and a Milton resident, I am thrilled we could partner again with the city to host Jog for a Cause," said Dr. Greg Cabrera of North Point Pediatrics. "The annual event has raised more than $293,000 to fight childhood cancer and we can't wait to increase that total with our 2017 race."
The race, featuring a 5K and Tot Trot, will follow the same route as in years past, beginning and ending at Milton's Freedom Park located at the corner of Deerfield Parkway and Webb Road.
Registration is $25 if received before Feb. 14 and $30 following that date. That fee guarantees a moisture-wicking T-shirt with the race logo and plenty of food and fluids after the race.
The 5K race will circle Deerfield Parkway, meaning it will be flat and fast. Awards will go to the 5K male and female open and masters and to the top three finishers in the various age groups.
"The partnership with Jog for a Cause is a wonderful opportunity for north Fulton residents to be active, engage with the city and their community, and support a great cause," said Milton's Community Outreach Manager Courtney Spriggs.
Touched by a friend's loss of a child to leukemia and his own family experience with childhood cancer, Dr. Cabrera first started Jog For A Cause in 2004. The annual race raises money to support cancer research, and assists families with the emotional and financial stress associated with diagnosis and treatment.
