Milton Kicks Off Holiday Season With Tree Lighting Ceremony

The city's first of three events will be held on Saturday, Nov. 28.

This weekend, the city of Milton this weekend will host the first of three events to usher in the 2015 holiday season: the Milton Tree Lighting on Saturday, Nov. 28; the eighth annual Christmas in Crabapple on Saturday, Dec. 5 and the second annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa Claus on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The tree lighting event will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of S.R. 9 and Webb Road in front of the Deerfield Place shopping center.

The tree lighting will include musical performances by the Milton High School choir, Christmas carols by candlelight, Milton’s Mayor and City Council counting down to the big moment, Santa and hot chocolate.

Dec. 5 is sure to have plenty of holiday cheer as the city, in partnership with the Crabapple Community Association, hosts the eighth annual Christmas in Crabapple.

The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Broadwell Pavilion, which is located at 12615 Broadwell Road.

This quaint holiday tradition has become a Milton staple, and includes Santa photos from Blencoe and Co. Photographic Arts, caroling, s’mores, hot cocoa and fun.

Last but not least is the Pancake Breakfast with Santa Claus, which will be hosted by the Milton Fire Department. The feast will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Fire Station 43, located at 750 Hickory Flat Road.

This free event will feature Santa, pancakes cooked and served by city of Milton firefighters and fire station tours. Unwrapped toys for North Fulton Community Charities’ Santa Toy Drive will also be accepted.
