Milton Police To Hold Drug Take-Back Day

The agency will take part in the ninth installment of the Drug Enforcement Agency's National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

The Milton Police Department next weekend will take part in the ninth installment of the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

The local agency will set up shop at Target at 13057 Highway 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 to collect all forms of prescription drugs, no matter how old.

Please note, however, that liquids or syringes will be not accepted.

In April, Americans turned in 390 tons (more than 780,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at nearly 6,100 sites operated by the DEA and more than 4,400 of its state and local law enforcement partners.

In eight previous drug take-back events, DEA and its partners have taken in more than 4.1 million pounds - or 2,100 tons - of pills.
