Milton Seeks New Members For Citizens Government Academy Class

Milton's Citizens Government Academy lets residents explore all aspects of municipal government operations from city employees.

MILTON, GA — The City of Milton has a few spots remaining for the fourth class of its upcoming Citizens Government Academy, a program that lets residents explore all aspects of municipal government operations.

Milton's Citizens Government Academy launched at the start of 2018. Its next cohort, like the three that preceded, will learn about important city services through hands-on projects and detailed presentations. Among other topics, participants will dive deep into emergency services, law enforcement, planning and zoning, finance and budget, the court system, public works, and parks and recreation.

Citizens Government Academy classes learn firsthand from men and women overseeing city departments. In addition to these face-to-face discussions, participants get behind-the-scene looks at government facilities around Milton.
