GIRLS
Milton (2nd-45 pts) beat back Centennial (3rd-44 pts) but was narrowly defeated by county-rival North Springs (1st-53 pts) and were led by the distance runners which included a school record being set. The mile took center stage at the Eagle’s last home meet of the season. Normally the 1600 meters is contested at most meets, but the mile is the traditional historic distance that everyone follows and is 1609 meters. The Lady Eagles swept the mile with junior Farrah Frith (1st-5:15.23) getting the race win and breaking the Milton school record by over 6-seconds! Following Frith were seniors Genevieve Trainor (2nd-5:33.82) & Megan Stechschulte (3rd-5:40.06) who also ran top-10 all-time school performances. The 800m also showed Milton’s distance strength as the Lady Eagles swept the top-4 finishing spots with sophomore Ella Grace Malcom (1st-2:24.85) grabbing the victory and running a personal best time. Fellow sophomores Leelah Dennis, Calista Cacciatore & freshman Macy Schadt completed the first through fourth place sweep! The distance girls (Frith, Malcom, Dennis, Cacciatore) came back to easily win the 4x400m relay as well. The lone other winner for the Lady Eagles was Sky Philpott (1st-87’4”) in the discus making her the 7th best performer in that event in school history.

BOYS
Milton (1st-54 pts) just outpaced North Springs (2nd-51 pts) & Centennial (3rd-46 pts) in a close affair. Individual victories came from senior Ethan Marcum (1st-22.47) in the 200m which makes him the 6th best performer in school history. Junior Cory Chambers (1st-2:05.80) got the 800m victory & fellow junior Bryce Thornton (1st 52.13) won the 400m. Milton’s boys were also victorious in the 4x100m Relay (1st-44.63) while junior Roman Atlow (1st-5’10”) won the high jump while senior pole vaulter Andrew Dassler (1st-14’4”) again was the winner and had a near miss at the stadium record height of 14’8”. Dassler has lost only one meet this entire season heading into the region/sectional/state meets coming up.
