Milton Wants To Create Historic Crabapple District
The 23 parcels located in the Crabapple Crossroads area would fall into the boundaries of the district.

The Milton City Council during its meeting on Monday will consider establishing its Historic Crabapple District.
The 23 parcels — situated on 25.170 acres — are located along Crabapple and Mayfield roads between Broadwell Road/Birmingham Highway and Charlotte Drive. It also includes 20 areas that have been designated as historic sites.
Council members will also consider a contribution agreement with the North Fulton Regional Radio System Authority.

Milton entered into an intergovernmental agreement for the development of a unified radio system for itself and the cities of Alpharetta, Roswell and Sandy Springs. Each of the four cities have agreed to fund the construction and maintenance of the system.
Each would contribute financially according to their weighted share determined by population, city square miles and number of radios needed. Because the original agreement was signed before the formation of the authority, a new agreement between the authority and each participating city is needed.

Based upon initial capitalization of the project, Milton’s weighted share is $2.43 million.
The city’s meeting will start at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 in the council chambers at Milton City Hall, located at 13000 Deerfield Parkway.
