National Dance Day Celebration Returns To Avalon
Vibe Fitness will host the event on Saturday, July 23 in Alpharetta.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- An event celebrating the art of dancing will be held on Saturday in Alpharetta.
Vibe Fitness, Inc. will host a celebration for National Dance Day from 9 a.m. to noon July 23 on The Plaza at Avalon, the 86-acre mixed-use community in Alpharetta.
“Dance is a medium which brings people of all communities together," said Ally Ponte, CEO of Vibe Fitness, Inc. "Celebrating movement though dance is part of our overall mission, and we’re excited to be partnering with Avalon and Athleta for Atlanta’s premier National Dance Day event."

Attendees of all ages and dance levels will have the opportunity to showcase their talents throughout the morning. Vibe Fitness master instructors Ally Ponte and Kelly Schur will teach the official National Dance Day routine at two levels.
Additionally, there will be demonstrations from two dance fitness programs: Club Vibe® for adults and Lil’ Vibe™ for kids. The schedule is as follows:

- 9:05 - 9:15 a.m.: Welcome and Introductions
- 9:15 - 9:30 a.m.: Lil’ Vibe
- 9:30 -10:30 a.m.: Easy National Dance Day Routine
- 10:30 - 10:45 a.m.: Break
- 10:45 - 11:15 a.m.: Club Vibe Demo
- 11:15 - 11:45 a.m.: Hard National Dance Day Routine
- 11:45 – noon: Routine Performances
- Noon: Shopping party at Athleta
“Athleta is a proud sponsor of National Dance Day Avalon as we strive to encourage individuals everywhere to experience life through movement and embrace the Power of She,” said Jeannie Northrop, community leader at Athleta at Avalon, the primary sponsor of the event.
Last year, over 175 people participated in National Dance Day at Avalon, which was the largest National Dance Day event held in Metro Atlanta.
“We’re thrilled to host Vibe’s National Dance Day for the second year in a row in our Plaza,” said Carla Toro, director of marketing at Avalon. “Health and wellness are among Avalon’s core values, and we’re honored to bring this unique dance experience to our community.”
Launched in 2010 by “So You Think You Can Dance” co-creator and Dizzy Feet Foundation co-president Nigel Lythgoe, National Dance Day is an annual celebration that takes place on the last Saturday in July. The campaign encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and fight obesity. National Dance Day is the only official day in the United States that is devoted to dance.
