One person was killed in one of three car crashes reported to Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies in the vicinity of McFarland Parkway and Ga. 400 Tuesday, according to information released Wednesday by the sheriff’s office.
Franklin Smith, 49 of Gainesville, died at a local hospital Tuesday afternoon after the 2006 Toyota Corolla he was driving was T-boned by a 2011 Ford Mustang as Smith tried to turn from eastbound McFarland Parkway on to the Ga. 400 northbound on-ramp just before noon, deputies said. Investigators believe Smith had the green arrow when he was hit.
