Noon To Night Raises $50,000 For Bert's Big Adventure

The fashion show was a fundraiser for the organization, which provides all-expenses-paid trips to Walt Disney World for ill children.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- North Fulton’s popular fall fashion event, Noon to Night at Avalon, was held earlier this month in Alpharetta to benefit a nonprofit organization that provides trips to Walt Disney World for children suffering with terminal illnesses.

The event raised $50,000 for Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit organization that provides the five-day, all-expenses-paid adventure for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families.

In 2015, Noon to Night brought in more than $10,000 for the group.

“Noon to Night is one of our most popular events, and it’s easy to see why the community loves it so much,” said Carla Toro, director of marketing at Avalon. “Noon to Night combines fall fashion from Avalon’s fabulous stores with the magical work of Bert’s Big Adventure to impact the lives of children with special needs and their families, creating an experience guests will never forget.”

About 500 people attended the event, which was hosted by Bert Weiss and Kristin Klingshire from The Bert Show and Christi Paul from HLN.

During Noon to Night, Avalon Boulevard was transformed into a runway that evokes images of New York Fashion Week. Bert’s Big Adventure children strutted down the runway with celebrity models, showcasing the latest fall looks from Avalon’s best-in-class retailers including Calypso St. Barth, Lou & Grey and Anthropologie.

“At Noon to Night, Bert’s Big Adventure kids swap their hospital gowns for the stylish ensembles, and trade stethoscopes for curling irons and make up brushes,” said Stacey Weiss of Bert’s Big Adventure. “We are thrilled to work with Avalon again this year to create a truly magical evening for Bert’s Big Adventure families and the North Fulton community.”

Bert’s Big Adventure, founded in 2002 by radio host Bert Weiss and Stacey Weiss, not only sends children with chronic and terminal illnesses on an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World, they provide year-round support and create a community of families that establishes long-lasting friendships with others facing similar challenges.
