North Fulton Restaurant Dishes Named To '100 Plates' List
The Pappardelle at Colletta Italian Food & Wine is also among the must-try locally-sourced dishes from around the state.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The Georgia Department of Economic Development Tourism Division has released the 2018 state culinary guide, Georgia Eats, which features the popular 100 Plates Locals Love list.
Quite a few restaurants around North Fulton have meals that are represented on the 2018 list featured in the guide, which also includes 10 flavor tours that showcase inspiring dining options, a gallery of the state's most Instagrammable foods, unique festivals, delectable recipes from a few of Georgia's celebrated chefs and more.
Since the inaugural issue of Georgia Eats, Georgia Tourism has designated the 100 Plates Locals Love as a way to provide visitors with locally-sourced suggestions. Nominations from around the state are gathered via ExploreGeorgia.org and evaluated by a panel of judges who curate the list down to the final designees.

The list has been likened to recommendations that Georgians would share with family and friends, and it has received rave reviews from visitors as well as restaurant owners, the state department said. The winners are listed according to their tourism regions: Atlanta Metro, Classic South, Coast, Historic Heartland, Historic High Country, Magnolia Midlands, Northeast Georgia Mountains, Plantation Trace and Presidential Pathways.

Situated in the Atlanta Metro region, Food 101 in Sandy Springs is touted for its Buttermilk Fried Chicken. According to the restaurant's menu, the chicken comes with whipped potatoes, green beans, chopped southern slaw and gravy.
"That crisp, tangy crunch of the fried chicken and the melt-in-your-mouth whipped potatoes are the definition of delicious," a reviewer said.
Roswell's Hugo Oyster Bar also made the list with its RC Chargrilled Oysters, which come with with Parmesan, blackened spices and garlic butter, according to the restaurant's menu.
"The flavor is out of this world together with the French bread to dip up the juice (sic)," a reviewer said.
Table & Main's Fried Chicken and the Pappardelle at Colletta Italian Food & Wine in Alpharetta are both named to Chef Holly Chute's list of must-try, locally sourced dishes from around the state.
"Chef Woody Back's fried chicken has been referred to as one of the best, and I have to agree," Chute says about the Fried Chicken, which is also featured in the guide. "The quality of the chicken along with the crispy, crunchy crust makes this a winner."
She also praised the pappardelle, adding "Chef Jason Stern’s combination of duck ragu, pistachios and black truffles make this dish sublime."
The Meatball Al Sugo at Sugo's Kitchen in Johns Creek was also added to this year's list. According to the restaurant's menu, the appetizer comes with roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions, pecorino and dates in a tomato basil sauce.
"The meatball is a must," a reviewer said. "You can often find owner Mr. C giving a cooking class on how to prepare this family recipe."

Georgia Eats was initially published in conjunction with the "Year of Culinary" campaign in 2015. The enthusiastic response from visitors led tourism officials to continue publishing it annually. Georgia Eats has become one of the state's most popular marketing pieces, with a print circulation of 187,000 and 62,000 unique page views via ExploreGeorgia.org.

The Georgia Eats culinary guide is available at the state's 12 Visitor Information Centers across the state and on the state's consumer tourism website ExploreGeorgia.org.
