Northside Hospital To Offer Free Prostate Screening

The screening will be held Feb. 24 at the Northside/Alpharetta Medical Campus, and participants must register in advance.

Alpharetta, GA -- Northside Hospital’s Cancer Institute will offer a community screening to determine men’s risk for developing prostate cancer.

Aside from skin cancer, prostate cancer remains the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men, the hospital states.

The screening will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Northside/Alpharetta Medical Campus, which is at 3400 Old Milton Parkway, Building C, Suite 100/110.

Free parking will be made available. Residents who qualify for the free screening are:

  • Men ages 40-75;
  • Have never been diagnosed with prostate cancer; and
  • Have not had a prostate exam within the past year.

The screening is administered by health care professionals and will include a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test and digital rectal exam. A nurse navigator will be available to help arrange follow up care, if indicated.

Spanish interpreters will also be available free of charge during the screening.
