Northside Hospital Offers Prostate Screening In Alpharetta
The screening to determine a man's risk for developing prostate cancer will be held on Aug. 23.

ALPHARETTA, GA — Northside Hospital Cancer Institute will offer a community screening to determine men’s risk for developing prostate cancer. The screening is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 at Northside/Alpharetta Medical Campus at 3400 Old Milton Parkway Building A Suite 130.
Those eligible for the screening include men between the ages of 45 and 75 who have not had a prior diagnosis of prostate cancer and have not had a prostate exam within the last year.
Screenings are administered by health care professionals and consist of a prostate-specific antigen blood test. A nurse navigator will be available to help arrange follow-up care, if needed. Interpretation services also will be available free of charge during the screening.

Pre-registration is required. Men may call 404-531-4444 to schedule an appointment. Free parking will be available on site. Prostate cancer remains the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men, aside from skin cancer. You can visit Northside Hospital's website to learn more about the benefits and risks of PSA testing. Men are encouraged to make an informed decision with their health care provider regarding the appropriateness of prostate cancer screening, the hospital said.
