From Northside Hospital: The Northside Hospital Cancer Institute would like to help you get ready for summer and understand the importance of skin safety with a community skin cancer screening. Medical professionals will provide a brief skin assessment in a private setting. Exposed areas such as your face, arms, hands, neck and feet will be examined.

This screening is open to everyone. Qualified Spanish interpreters will be available free of charge, by request. Recommended screening attire includes shorts and T-shirt.

Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, nearly 2,500 cases of melanoma, the most dangerous type of skin cancer, will be diagnosed in Georgia this year. As with other cancers, early detection is important.Northside’s skin cancer screening should not replace a complete skin exam with a skin specialist.
