Obituary: Barbara Thoresen, 68
The family is asking those who plant to attend the memorial service to wear bright, cheerful colors.
The following obituary was submitted by Northside Chapel Funeral Directors & Crematory:
Barbara Thoresen, age 68 of Milton, passed on Aug. 22. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her parents, M. L. and Vera Purcell, and son, Richard, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Richard C. Thoresen; son, Gerald Thoresen; sisters, Debra Mizzell and Wanda Nash; brother, Leonard Purcell; granddaughter, Lindsey Thoresen; niece, Heather Nash; and nephews, Conrad Mizzell and Jimmy Bazemore.
A celebration of life will be held at noon on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors in Roswell, with Rev. Bobby Pirkle officiating.
The Thoresens will receive family and friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donation may be offered to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. The Thoresen family requests that attendees wear bright, cheerful colors for the service.
