Obituary: Charles David Gunter, 78

Charles David Gunter, 78, of Alpharetta, died on Monday Sept. 23. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie and Dewey Gunter; son, Charles William Gunter; and his brother, William Dewey Gunter.

He is survived by his daughters, Renee and Bill Mahaffey of Powder Springs, Kim and Steven Woodard of Mableton, and Davida Gunter of Merryville, TN; sons, David Gunter, Jr. of Lithia Springs and Tim Gunter of Mableton; sisters, Frances and John Smith of Alpharetta and Betty and Robert Thompson of Cumming; brother, Allen and Kate Gunter of Alpharetta, as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors in Roswell, with Rev. Ed Schrader officiating. Burial will follow at Old Big Creek Cemetery in Alpharetta. The Gunter family received friends on Tuesday at the funeral home.
