Obituary: Edward Montgomery Harris

Harris loved tennis and was known for his quick wit and joking attitude.

Edward Montgomery Harris died on Sept. 12.

Ed was loved by many because of his easy going ways, kind heart, and friendly smile. Ed is survived by his adoring wife, Beth, and his lovely daughter Rachel, Ed and Beth's pride and joy. He is also survived by his parents, Monty and Rachel Harris of Richmond Virginia, his in-laws, Leroy and Anne Robertson of Richmond Virginia, his aunt Nancy, his brother in-law, Brian, sister in-law, Donna, niece Sarah (John) and nephew Patrick, all from Richmond.

Ed was an avid tennis player and loved the competition on the court. He will be dearly missed by all of his tennis friends. He will also be missed by his friends from Purdue, who he loved to spend time with, and also by his many friends from work, his neighbors, and those who had the opportunity to get to know him, who so appreciated his quick wit and joking attitude.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta. A second memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bon Air Baptist Church, 2531 Buford Rd., Richmond, VA 23235.
