Obituary: Frances Gaines Samples, 74
Ms. Samples passed away after a long battle with an illness.

Frances Gaines Samples, 74, of Alpharetta passed away peacefully on Aug. 19. She departed from a prolonged illness with family and friends by her side.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William Edward “Big Ed” Samples, granddaughter, Cori Beth Nunley and son-in-law, Billy Ray Nunley.
She is survived by her daughters, Dana Samples, Sheri Nunley, and Shanon Washburn, and son-in-law, Dr. Thomas Keith Washburn; grandchildren Savannah Rae Nunley, Jessica Virginia Nunley, Madelin Sue Nunley, Ella Mackenzie Nunley, William Edward Samples “Wes” Washburn and Carter Gaines Washburn, all of Alpharetta.
She leaves behind very special friends, Jayne Dover Anderson of Cumming, Howard Stanley Breeding of New Tazewell, Tennessee, Ellen Sills Greene of Blue Ridge, Joyce Crider and Beverly Grogan Phillips, both of Alpharetta.
Her celebration of life was held on Saturday, Aug. 24th at the Northside Chapel in Roswell. Internment services were held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell.
