  1. An announcement from Atlanta-based tech firm OneTrust may affect employees living in Alpharetta-Milton. The company announced this week that it is cutting over 950 jobs which will affect over one-quarter of its workforce. Leaders cited a lack of investor interest as a reason for the layoffs. Specifics, including departments that will be affected by these layoffs, have not been released. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. The City Of Milton is asking residents to nominate who they think deserves a spot on Milton's Wall of Fame! There is currently a World Series Champ, professional lacrosse goalie, softball legends, golf and gymnastics champions, and others who have furthered the sports scene in Milton.   3. The Attorney General is warning people across Georgia of the text messaging scams that request payments or other sensitive forms of information. "Scammers will use any means to commit their crimes, including sending texts that initially appear to come from a trusted source, such as a government entity, law enforcement agency, bank, or well-known retailer," said Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr.   4. A Fulton County prosecutor has been tapped to lead a statewide anti-gang unit in Georgia. Cara Convery, the Fulton County deputy DA, is leading 11 attorneys and paralegals for the unit with the Georgia attorney general's office having authority alongside local prosecutors to bring cases. The law's supporters say local prosecutors can have difficulties pursuing gang-related crimes across all of GA's 50 judicial circuits. (WUGA)
  5. Fulton County schools are planning to utilize a threat assessment tool to help keep kids safe amidst an increase in school shooting threats and the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas. The tool will measure who is a risk on campus, including how much of a risk they are to others and who should respond to certain situations, including parents, professional clinicians, or police.
