Paint Avalon Pink Kicks Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The Alpharetta community kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness month with 'Paint Avalon Pink' on October 5.

Pull out your favorite pink outfit and get ready to Paint Avalon Pink for breast cancer awareness on Oct. 5 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. The event will feature a free yoga class, local breast cancer survivors including Julie Chrisley from “Chrisley Knows Best” speaking about their experiences, giveaways from Avalon’s retailers and more.
“Breast cancer awareness is a cause that’s very important to us and the entire Alpharetta community,” said Carla Toro, director of marketing at Avalon. “Starting with the Paint Avalon Pink kick-off event, we’re dedicating the whole month of October to giving back to Susan G. Komen and honoring local survivors.”

Paint Avalon Pink begins with a special AvalOM wellness class in The Plaza, followed by the kick-off event which will feature local breast cancer survivors speaking about their experiences. The fountain will light up pink throughout the evening, and there will be pink giveaways and other fun activities. All coins thrown into the fountain during the month of October will be donated to Susan G. Komen.
Avalon’s retailers are also making a difference with special discounts and donations. Retailer and restaurant specials are as follows:

- American Threads: American Threads will host an in-store event on Oct. 5 as part of Paint Avalon Pink. Receive 20 percent off your purchase from 6 to 8 p.m. and enjoy braid styling and make-up touches from Dry Bar and The Cosmetic Market. Ten percent of all sales during the event will be donated to Susan G. Komen.
- Bocado Burger: Giveback night on Oct. 19 from 5 to 9 p.m.
- Calypso St. Barth: Pink cocktails will be served in-store on Oct. 7 and 8 and the store will accept donations for Susan G. Komen.
- Farm to Ladle: For every sale of six-pack paleo bites during the month of October, $1 will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
- J. Jill: $10 off all full-priced items for breast cancer survivors during the month of October.
- Kendra Scott: Giveback party on Oct. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. and 20 percent of all purchases at the event will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
- Madewell: Giveback party on Oct. 5 following Paint Avalon Pink with a percentage of sales going to Susan G. Komen. All breast cancer survivors will receive a free Madewell tote.
