Pedestrian Killed On GA-400 Attended Concert In Alpharetta: Police
Police say the 23-year-old was walking in the far-right lane on the northbound side when he was hit by at least 2 vehicles Saturday night.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety believe the man who was hit and killed late Saturday evening along GA-400 had just left a concert held at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater at Encore Park. The agency has released the identity of the man who died after he was struck near the Haynes Bridge Road interchange.
Emergency dispatchers received a call stating a male subject was walking southbound in the middle of the far right lane on the northbound side of the highway, said Alpharetta police spokesperson Officer Jason Muenzer. By the time officers arrived on the scene around 11:58 p.m., it was "too late," Muenzer told Patch.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Tyler Keith Piper of Covington, was pronounced dead at the scene. Muenzer told Patch officers believe Piper had just left a concert at the popular venue featuring popular country duo Florida Georgia Line "right before" he wandered onto the northbound lanes.

Alpharetta police also said it appears Piper was hit by at least two vehicles. One of those cars stayed at the scene following the collision, but the second one allegedly did not stick around, Muenzer added. The driver of the second vehicle has since been tracked down and is speaking with investigators, the spokesperson added.

Saturday's incident is the second fatality reported on Georgia's Hospitality Highway. On Thursday, Alpharetta resident Julieanna Shedrawy, 49, died when a wheel from a truck detached from the vehicle, bounced over the median and struck her car on GA-400 near Northridge Road in Sandy Springs.
