Police: Academy St. Open After Barricaded Man Arrested
Alpharetta Police have reopened Academy St. Tuesday night after it was blocked due to a barricaded man for nearly two hours.
ALPHARETTA, GA — Academy Street is open as of 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night after it was closed for nearly two hours due to a man barricading himself.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said at 7 p.m. a male was taken into custody without force. No officers were injured.
The situation began around 5:30 p.m. it was dealing with a barricaded person, who has a felony warrant, in the 300 block of Academy Street.

Academy Street was shutdown between Wade Creek Rd and Danscliff Lane, and between Jamestown Trail and Dancliff Lane.
SWAT and negotiators were on scene.
