George Gordon, spokesperson with the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety, said the caller phoned the school around 9:39 a.m. June 2 and ”stated he was on the premise and made threats to do harm.”
Police quickly arrived at the school, which was placed under lockdown. A search was conducted of the school and its perimeter, and the threat was determined to be a “hoax,” Gordon added.

Police shut down Mayfield Road between Canton Street and Providence Road as part of the internal and external sweep, and the road was opened just after lunch time.
The last day of school in the Fulton County School System was May 22, and post planning was held May 26-27, according to the district’s 2014-15 calendar. School system spokesperson Samantha Evans said a few senior school staff members as well as administrative assistants were on the premises at the time of the incident.
“There were a few students there from neighboring schools for the extended school year program, along with staff from those schools,” she added.
While the lockdown has been lifted, Gordon said the investigation into the incident continues.
