Police Look For Suspect Who Tried To Lure Child

The Milton Police Department is urging residents to be on the lookout of a suspicious person who they say tried to lure a child over the weekend.

According to the agency’s Facebook page, officers responded to a call of a suspicious person during the evening of Sunday, Sept. 20 on Avening Court, which is located off Deerfield Parkway.

Officers met with a female juvenile who said a man “beckoned” her to come to him, Milton police added.

“The suspect did not speak with or attempt to speak with the juvenile, nor did he approach the juvenile,” police said. “The juvenile became uneasy and fled on foot to her residence and notified her mother of the incident.”

The suspect was described as a white male who looks to be between 20 and 30 years old, between 5’10’’ and 6 feet tall, having brown hair and was wearing blue jean overalls at the time of the incident, Milton police said.

No vehicle was observed or associated with the suspect in question. Uniformed Milton officers have canvassed the area for witnesses and suspects in the last three days, and “will be ramping up patrols in the area to maintain high visibility and address any further visible suspicious activity.”

Residents are strongly encouraged to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity to Milton police by calling 911.
