🌱 Police Smart Card Technology + Fulton County Staff To Receive Raise

  1. Alpharetta Public Safety is piloting the new Police Smart Card technology. For the past few months, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety has partnered with Montana-based Police Smart Card on a first-of-its-kind pilot to replace police officers' business cards with fully-featured smart cards. The cards include a QR code citizens can scan to access a police officer's badge information, download a vCard with the officer's contact information and a case number, and a survey to provide feedback on interactions with the officer.   2. Fulton County Schools' $1.6 billion budget included raises. When the Fulton County school board authorized a nearly $1.64 billion budget on Tuesday, that approved a 3 percent raise for employees starting in July, followed by a midyear step increase. In addition, the district plans to pass along a $2,000 pay bump included in the state budget to teachers and other eligible employees. "This school district has a very fiscally conservative governing board, and we do our very, very best to make sure that the taxpayer dollars that we are blessed with receiving are spent wisely and to the benefit of students," said Superintendent Mike Looney.   3. Toll Brothers just opened a new Design Studio nearby. Conveniently located in Alpharetta, Georgia, the new state-of-the-art Design Studio will serve as a retail-like shopping experience for Toll Brothers home buyers, offering luxury interior design options and premium products.   4. Mauricio Umansky just opened a real estate brokerage firm in Alpharetta. Umansky, a star of the reality TV show, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," operates The Agency, a national luxury real estate brokerage firm. The Agency's North Atlanta office will serve buyers and sellers across Metro Atlanta. The Alpharetta location is The Agency's 36th franchise. (Appen Media)
  5. Fulton County's elections board will meet Thursday to discuss voter challenges. The board, comprised of Democrats and Republicans, plans to discuss the general primary election report, an update on duplicates, voter challenges, and polling place changes. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. inside the assembly hall of the Fulton Government Center as well as live-streamed at www.youtube.com/c/FultonGovernmentTV.
