ALPHARETTA, GA -- Avalon, Alpharetta’s popular mixed-use community, has unveiled it 2016 Signature Events lineup.

Little Acorns, AvalOM, Run Avalon and Avalon Nights Live kick off March 8, March 9, March 12 and April 15, respectively, and will occur weekly through October.

Punchline Comedy at Avalon will take place once a month beginning March 7.

“The North Fulton community has embraced Avalon as its ‘third place’ – the social place outside of home and work,” said Liz Gillespie, vice president of marketing for North American Properties. “Our team of ExperienceMakers has successfully established a connection with the community unlike any property across the Sunbelt. We are thrilled to launch our second season of Signature Events, and we look forward to welcoming guests to Avalon’s Plaza this spring.”

These weekly and monthly events are carefully curated to reflect Avalon’s core values, “which include health and wellness, kids and families and community,” the company added. 

Since Avalon’s opening in October 2014, the community has hosted more than 100 events, seen five marriage proposals and raised over $100,000 for local charities.

Many of these signature events will take place in The Plaza, Avalon’s central gathering space and “living room” for the community. All events are free and open to the public.

Details about the upcoming events are as follows:

· Little Acorns: Every Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to noon, parents and caregivers are invited to bring their pre-school aged tots for free playtime in The Plaza. Weekly surprises will include face painters, storytellers, magicians, zoo animals and more. This event begins on March 8 and lasts through Oct. 25.

· AvalOM: Every Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m., fitness fanatics can enjoy a free wellness class in the Plaza. Classes will be a variety of yoga and barre, and will be led by expert instructors from exhale, Flywheel Sports, lululemon, Athleta and more. This event begins March 9 and lasts through Oct. 26.

· Run Avalon: Every Saturday morning, meet Road Runner Sports in the Plaza for a weekly run club to enjoy exercising as a group. Run Avalon meets at 9 a.m. in the Plaza every Saturday beginning March 12 and lasting through Oct. 29.

· Avalon Nights Live: Every Friday evening, families and friends are invited to sit back, relax and enjoy music performed by local artists in the Plaza. Guests are welcome to grab to-go food and drinks from Avalon’s famed eateries like Oak Steakhouse and Branch & Barrel, and bring their meals for an evening out on the Plaza. This event begins April 16 and lasts through Oct. 28.

· Punchline Comedy at Avalon: Throughout the summer, join The Punchline for lots of laughs with live comedy acts in Palmer Plaza (located between Oak Steakhouse and Colletta). The performances last about 90 minutes and are recommended for ages 13 and older. Event dates: March 7, April 4, May 2, June 6, July 11, Aug. 1, Sept. 6 and Oct. 3.
