Thanks For Shoveling My Driveway: Random Kindness In Alpharetta
Patch asked Alpharetta readers, "What's the nicest thing a neighbor has done for you?" One person shoveled a neighbor's driveway.
ALPHARETTA, GA — Thursday is Random Acts of Kindness Day. Alpharetta residents on social media are likely to see their feeds full of #MakeKindnessTheNorm, the theme for this year.
Patch asked Alpharetta-Milton residents on Facebook, "What's the nicest thing a neighbor has done for you?" A few of the responses we got were so inspirational that we thought we'd share them with you, dear readers.
- Sherri Johnston Morgan: My neighbor shoveled my driveway when we had several inches of snow a few years ago.
- Joseph Alamayo: Have children with me.
The Denver-based Random Acts of Kindness Foundation's first RAK Day was in 1995. The small nonprofit's initiative caught on, was celebrated in New Zealand by 2004 and has since been celebrated around the world as a way for people to show kindness to others in small, simple ways.
