Recycle Electronics, Shred Documents On April 28 In Alpharetta
The city's events will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Alpharetta Department of Public Works.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The city of Alpharetta will provide residents a chance to safely discard of sensitive documents containing confidential information. The city will host its document shredding drive on Saturday, April 28 at the Alpharetta Department of Public Works.
From 9 a.m. to noon (or earlier if the truck is full), residents can drop off up to five boxes of bank statements, medical history papers or other documents that will be destroyed. This shredding and recycling collection will offer residents and small businesses the opportunity to safely discard confidential documents using a mobile, on-site shredding truck.
If you want to have peace of mind, residents can watch their documents being shredded and "have comfort knowing that the shredded materials will be recycled without risk of their confidential information falling into the wrong hands," the city added.

The Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission as participants to give back to those in need by bringing one can of food per box brought in for shredding. The food will be given to less fortunate families through the North Fulton Community Charities Food Bank.

Alpharetta's event will be held in conjunction with a computer and electronics recycling collection scheduled for the same date and time at the same location. The city has teamed up with Atlanta Recycling Solutions for this collection drive, which allows residents and businesses to dispose and recycle electronic waste.
Items that will be accepted at no charge include: computers, DVD players & VCRs, portable electronics, mobile phones, computer parts, telephones, iPads and tablets, toner cartridges, cables/wires, calculators, monitors (note there's a $10 charge for CRT monitors), printers, small electronics, laptops and UPS batteries. Please note that there will be a $20 charge for acceptable televisions - no projection TV’s, console units, or TV tubes.
Residents are asked not to bring small appliances, microwave ovens, tires, refrigerators, freezers, trash, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, washers, dryers, power equipment, vacuum cleaners and ovens. Companies that have a large amount of electronics are asked to contact contact Atlanta Recycling Solutions directly at (678) 566-6665 to discuss pick up options.
