After choosing the items he wanted to take, police said the suspect cruised past the cash registers without paying, WSB notes.
Milton police captain Shawn McCarty said when store employees tried to prevent Durkin from leaving the store, he “brandished a knife and told the loss prevention officer to get out of his way or he was going to cut him,” WSB reported.
Booking records show Durkin, a resident of Decatur, remains behind bars.
