Rotary Club Donates $1,500 Towards Smoke House
The club continues to support the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety's fire education initiatives.

ALPHARETTA, GA --When you hear the phrase "smoke house," your mind usually wanders off to the land of delicious barbecue.
However, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety has its own smoke house, and it has nothing to do with food.
The Rotary Club of Alpharetta has partnered with the agency in its efforts to educate citizens about fire safety.

The smoke house is a mobile structure that the department uses throughout the community to educate residents about the dangers that can lead to devastating fires, such as unattended burning candles and pots on the stove.
The club at its July 15 meeting donated $1,500 to the department towards its efforts.

“Our club has supported the smoke house for many years," said Club President Jason Binder. "It has been a great tool in educating our community about fire safety. I am proud that our club can continue to support the smoke house and support our Public Safety officers, who everyday exemplify the Rotary motto of Service above Self.”
