Say Goodbye To Summer Bash On Aug. 4 At Avalon

From The Wilbert Group: The new school year is right around the corner, but the summer fun is far from over at Avalon in Alpharetta. On Saturday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., the community is invited to the mixed-use destination for the inaugural “Say Goodbye to Summer” extravaganza, an all-day celebration benefiting North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC). The seasonal bash will feature live music, summer cocktails, back-to-school deals, in-store promotions and family-fun activations.

“Say Goodbye to Summer is an amazing opportunity for our neighbors to join together to say farewell to the season while supporting the admirable efforts of North Fulton Community Charities,” said Carla Cox, director of marketing at Avalon. “With the help of Alpharetta residents and guests, this event will positively impact the lives of local children and families, ultimately enhancing their future education.”

For this event, Avalon has partnered with NFCC to host its Back-to-School Supply Drive to help prepare children to succeed academically by providing them with the supplies they need. Products such as pencils, backpacks, notebooks, paper and more will be collected and distributed to North Fulton families. Shoppers are invited to bring new school supplies to Concierge throughout the day to receive special event swag items.

While dropping off supplies at Concierge, event participants are encouraged to pick up a guided map detailing special promotions from retailers and restaurants. Then, from 4 to 8 p.m., The Plaza will transform into a dance floor where attendees can enjoy live music performed by the Ty Reynolds Band, and boogie away the back-to-school blues. To cool down, parents and other revelers over 21 can indulge in refreshing cocktails from one of Avalon’s outdoor bars and raise a toast to the end of summer.

Each year, NFCC distributes over 1,000 backpacks filled with supplies to North Fulton’s low-income families, alleviating the financial burden associated with yearly back-to-school costs.
