Severe Weather Topples Trees, Brings Hail To North Fulton
The cities of Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell, Johns Creek and Sandy Springs remain under a tornado watch until 8 p.m. Monday.
Residents in north Fulton County were greeted with another round of severe weather that raced through the area Monday afternoon.
Tornado watches, and severe weather and tornado warnings were issued Monday afternoon by the National Weather Service. Hail, heavy rain and high winds were the main threats to residents.
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City initially issued a tornado warning for north Fulton County around 2:15 p.m. Monday. However, the agency extended the warning until 3:30 p.m. for the area, which also includes northeast Gwinnett County, northwest Barrow County, southern Hall County, south central Forsyth County and Jackson County.

The severe weather propelled the Fulton County School System to delay afternoon dismissal.
A spokesperson with the system said dismissal has been delayed, particularly in schools situated in Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Roswell and Sandy Springs.

“Buses are not transporting students until the all clear has been given by emergency agencies,” the system said. “Parents waiting in car pool lanes are advised to shelter in place until the warning is lifted.”
In Sandy Springs, one tree was “knocked down blocking Spalding Drive at Ball Mill,” but crews cleared the tree from the road, the Police Department said on its Facebook page.
A tornado watch issued earlier Monday by the National Weather Service remains in effect for north Fulton County until 8 p.m. Monday.
