Space Alien Riding Shotgun Pulled Over By Alpharetta Cop
Police came into contact with the driver and his non-human passenger when they were stopped for speeding.
ALPHARETTA, GA -- Officers around the country will tell you they've seen it all while working the beat in their respective jurisdictions, and the latest example out of a metro Atlanta city proves to be just as bizarre as your imagination can muster.
A motorcycle officer with the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety pulled over a driver accused of speeding Sunday afternoon on S.R. 400 southbound at Mansell Road. What began as a routine traffic stop morphed into an encounter with extraterrestrial life, as the cop realized the driver was not alone.
Riding shotgun was a life-sized doll of a space alien perched nonchalantly in the passenger seat. While obviously not from Earth, the non-human was considerate enough to obey Georgia traffic laws by properly wearing a seatbelt while inside a moving vehicle.

The driver, said Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesperson George Gordon, was issued a verbal warning, and he and his co-pilot from another planet were able to go on about their business.
"He gave no explanation as to why he had the alien with him, but he did allow us to take a pic for social media," Gordon said of the driver.

Of course, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety couldn't pass up the opportunity to share this encounter with its followers on Facebook.
"Umm, the things you see during everyday patrol," the agency said in it post published Sunday.
