Starbucks To Close Teavana Store At North Point Mall
Starbucks notes the retail stores, primarily located in shopping malls, have been "persistently underperforming."
ALPHARETTA, GA -- Do you enjoy getting Teavana samples when you go to the mall? If so, you will only have a little less than a year to partake in that indulgence. That's because Starbucks has announced it will close all 379 Teavana stores, including the one at North Point Mall in Alpharetta.
The company made the announcement Thursday during its third quarter highlights for 2017. The stores, located mostly inside shopping malls, have been "persistently underperforming," Starbucks said in its announcement.
"Following a strategic review of the Teavana store business, the company concluded that despite efforts to reverse the trend through creative merchandising and new store designs, the underperformance was likely to continue," the company added.
