SWAT Incident In Milton Ends Peacefully On Halloween
A section of Freemanville Road in Milton was closed Thursday afternoon, after SWAT units were called when shots were fired.
MILTON, GA — After shots were fired outside a home in Milton Thursday afternoon, police were able to end the situation peacefully after arresting the suspect.
On Oct. 31, Milton Police officers were dispatched to an assault around 5 p.m. that had occurred at a residence in the 15700 block of Freemanville Road.
Officers met a man who said he and the suspect, Nikolas Alexander Cole, 23, of Alpharetta, had been arguing before he left. When the victim returned shortly after to pick up some belongings, the suspect shot several times at the victim, police said. The victim was not injured, but his car was hit by bullets. The victim fled to a nearby safe location and called Milton Police to report the assault.

Milton Police attempted to contact the suspect, and asked him to leave the house to speak with them, but he refused. Milton Police then requested the assistance of North Fulton SWAT (special weapons and tactics). After several hours, SWAT negotiators were able to speak with the suspect and at 9 p.m., the suspect surrendered to SWAT officers.
The suspect was charged with aggravated assault and criminal damage to property and was booked into the Fulton County Jail. No additional charges are expected at this time, however, the investigation is still in the early stages, police said.
