A witness advised dispatchers he’d been following a Silver Honda Pilot that “had just taken a package off his neighbor’s front porch,” the incident report states.
The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at Alpharetta’s Crabapple Government Center on Broadwell Road, and the teens were detained for the alleged thefts.
Another witness, who provided a written statement to police, said he allegedly saw the Honda Pilot pull into a the cul-de-sack on Knightsbridge Way and “sit for a moment before a box was thrown from the vehicle into the roadway.”
The vehicle left the neighborhood after the box was tossed into the road, the witness said.
According to police, Abdi said he was driving McGregor around so he could allegedly remove packages from the doorsteps of residences.
Abdi said McGregor allegedly dumped several of the boxes the packages had arrived in out of the window. A search of the car allegedly revealed multiple items that police say had been taken from several addresses.
All of the stolen items were recovered and taken back to the police department to be stored until the owners could be identified. Those items items include clothes, Led Zeppelin records, power tools and various household goods.
Both teens were taken back to the Alpharetta Police Department where they were interviewed, and warrants were obtained for the charges. They will be issued court dates by the Fulton County State Court. The case remains under investigation.
