Teens Chosen For Google Science Fair Competition

Two north Fulton County teenagers have been chosen from thousands of entries as regional finalists in the 2015 Google Science Fair competition.

Agni Kumar, a 17-year-old junior at Milton High School, was selected for her project Evolution of Eukaryotic Ribosomes at Atomic Resolution while Shubhom Bhattacharya, a 17-year-old at Alpharetta High School, was selected for his project, Fabrication of Semi-Transparent Organic Photovoltaic cells.

Entries from more than 90 countries were considered as finalists.

The Google Science Fair is the largest online science fair in the world open to students age 13 to 18, offering them the opportunity to pursue their interest in science and technology.

Agni and Shubhom will move on to the next round of judging, and the global finalists will be announced on Aug. 4.
