Thieves Ruin Vacation by Stealing Valuables from Car in Driveway

The following information was supplied by the Milton police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Milton family's vacation was ruined before they even left their driveway after thieves stole their luggage containing clothing and valuables worth almost $24,000.

The father of the Deer Trail family told Milton police on June 19 that he and his son were packing the vehicle at 4:30 p.m. A pinched nerve caused him to leave his son to finish packing. When they went back outside 15 minutes later, the luggage was missing, and the rear passenger door and trunk were open. He didn't know if his son left the car unlocked in the driveway.

A wedding ring worth $11,000, two $2,000 necklaces, several purses, luggage, clothing, two Macbook Pro laptops, a Dell laptop, Nikon and Sony cameras were among the missing items.
