U.S. Marshals Capture Alpharetta Slaying Suspect

The Fulton Sheriff's Office helped capture the fugitive after a multistate search.

A suspect in the shooting death at an Alpharetta townhome development near Old Milton Parkway has been captured.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety announced that Shane Demetrice Woods was arrested in Georgia. Woods was captured by the United States Marshal's  Southeastern Fugitive Task Force with assistance by the Fulton County Sheriffs Office, according to George Gordon, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.

He has been transported to Alpharetta's jail annex. Woods was wanted in connection with the shooting death of Zachary Rose of Canton on Jan. 28.

"Woods was being tracked throughout the southeast by federal agents and had fled to other states," Gordon said in his news release.

He said no other information will be released tonight.

Formal charges of homicide have been filed against Woods shortly after Rose's death.
