Volunteers Needed For Milton First Responders Foundation

The organization provides support to Milton police and firefighters.

MILTON, GA -- Are you looking for a way to help Milton's first responders who put their lives on the line to protect you and your family?

If that's the case, then you may want to checkout the Milton First Responders Foundation. Adults, teens and even students can all do their part by joining the Milton First Responders Foundation as a volunteer.

What exactly does this organization do? It's a nonprofit made up of community volunteers who provide support to members of Milton Police and Fire-Rescue departments and their families.

All proceeds raised during events and other initiatives help the organization provide support in three primary areas:

  • Financial assistance for first responders injured or killed in the line of duty or enduring a family hardship. Disability benefits and even life insurance do not always cover the additional expenses incurred when a firefighter or police officer are seriously injured, killed or facing an unusual family emergency. MFRF wants to be prepared to help when the worst happens and has already assisted two families.
  • Recognize officers or firefighters who demonstrate exceptional skill, expertise, innovation, bravery and commitment to keeping Milton safe.
  • Purchase supplemental equipment and training materials to keep Milton’s first responders performing at the highest level of productivity and preparedness.

While the foundation has accomplished quite a lot in its first 18 months, organizers are ready to expand their volunteer base to help with events. And, with school out for the summer, parents looking for interesting, fun and worthwhile activities for teens wanting those all-important service hours would be hard pressed to ignore what the foundation has to offer.
