Webb Bridge Middle Students Celebrate Georgia's Heritage

Hands-on activities and presentations to the eighth grade students add insight to the state's history.

Eighth graders at Webb Bridge Middle School celebrated Georgia Heritage Day with hands-on activities and 33 presenters conducting 120 sessions on topics related to Georgia for the students.

Those presenters included George Thurmond, representative of the Georgia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Georgia Heritage Day topics ranged from the American Revolution in Georgia, watercolors, and the Chattahoochee to apple treats, peanut brittle, kudzu chips, and biscuit making. Hands-on activities included panning for gold, cross-stitch, gardening, quilting, music and dance.
