Weekend Getaways: Improv, Suburban Style

The Red Door Playhouse in Roswell is a great place for date night.

If you like laughing but aren't big on leaving the suburbs for downtown Atlanta, you're in luck. in Roswell offers a night of Improv comedy once a month, and this Saturday is a great time to check it out.

The Red Door Improv Show is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. at the Red Door Playhouse on the Roswell Square. Expect original sketch comedy, video shorts, live music, audience participation, lots of surprises, and lots of laughs. The show is ages 21 and over; and beer and wine will be available. Parking is free and plentiful behind the playhouse and there are several restaurants within walking distance or a short drive, including , , and the recently renovated , one of Roswell's oldest and most loved places for wings.

Admission is $10 and you can make reservations by calling 770.649.9994 or emailing reservations@reddoorplayhouse.com. The Playhouse also offers classes for children and adults, a Writers' Group and year-round shows, as well as poetry slams.
