WellStar Avalon Health Park Breaks Ground On June 4

The outpatient facility will have physician practices, urgent care, cardiac diagnostics, lab outreach services and medical imaging services.

ALPHARETTA, GA — WellStar Health System on Monday will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a new outpatient services facility in Alpharetta. The groundbreaking for WellStar Avalon Health Park will be held June 4 at the construction site off Old Milton Parkway.

The two-story, 40,000-square-foot facility will provide Alpharetta and North Fulton residents with "high-quality outpatient services close to home," WellStar contends. Once opened, the health park is expected to see more than 80,000 outpatient procedures and patient visits in its first full year of operation.

“WellStar is always seeking innovative ways to increase patient access to world-class healthcare, and we have found our network of health parks to be very successful at doing just that,” said Joe Brywczynski, senior vice president of WellStar Health Parks Administration & Development. “We are thrilled to bring this innovative, one-stop shop for outpatient healthcare services to patients and families of Alpharetta as it will complement the variety of WellStar outpatient and inpatient services in the area, including WellStar North Fulton Hospital located just a few miles away.”

Patients will have access to various medical specialties under one roof, including family medicine, OB/GYN, pulmonary, cardiology and pediatrics.

“WellStar North Fulton Hospital has been a fixture in this community for years, and the opening of the WellStar Avalon Health Park creates a wonderful opportunity for patients and consumers to experience the high-quality care they have come to expect at the hospital in an outpatient setting,” said Jon-Paul Croom, WellStar senior vice president and president of WellStar North Fulton Hospital. “And with WellStar Connect, our electronic medical record platform, a patient’s medical record follows them wherever they go across the system, and is available to the patient online and on our mobile app.”

Other WellStar health parks include WellStar Acworth Health Park, WellStar East Cobb Health Park, WellStar Vinings Health Park and WellStar Cherokee Health Park at Holly Springs, which is currently under construction. Combined, the health parks are expected to treat more than 564,000 patients in 2018.
